Sociology Revision Courses

A detailed and engaging course covering the AQA Sociology specification.

The first half of the course aims to cover first year content helping to refresh students memories on topics they will not have covered since the last academic year.  The second half aims to tackle some of the tougher second year content and focus on applying students subject knowledge in the exam using the correct technique.

Easter Revision 2018: Linear Specification

A 3 day intensive revision course which aims to provide second year A Level Sociology students with the knowledge, exam technique and confidence to fully achieve their potential in the summer exam.

Students in the first year of their A level who are due to sit the AS exam are welcome to attend the course but will only be able to access the content covered on day 1 and 2 of the course.

Emma has been teaching A Level Sociology for nine years following a career in the customer services industry.  Her teaching career started as a Teaching Assistant where she worked with students with a wide range of additional needs and she currently teaches at a large sixth form college in Surrey.

Emma is experienced in delivering sessions to individuals, small and large groups and uses a range of methods in her teaching which culminate in excellent outcomes for her students.

By Train:

From Central London

Travel direct to Strawberry Hill station from Waterloo station using the Kingston loopline. The journey takes about 35 minutes and there are usually four trains an hour. You can use an Oyster card for this journey.

From other destinations

For train travel from other destinations you can use the National Rail Enquiries or Transport for London websites to plan your journey.

Walking from Strawberry Hill station to St Mary’s

St Mary’s is a five minute walk from Strawberry Hill station. Turn left when you leave the station, then walk past Premier Wine and the Post Office on your left and take the second road on your right, which is Waldegrave Gardens. At the end of Waldegrave Gardens, turn right onto Waldegrave Road and St Mary’s main reception is on your left.

By Car:

St Mary’s is located on Waldegrave Road (A309).  If you are using a sat nav, the postcode for the Strawberry Hill campus is TW1 4SX.

By Bus:

From Richmond-upon-Thames

You can catch the R68 towards Hampton Court from a bus stop just outside Richmond station. Get off at the Twickenham, King Street stop and then take the 33 towards Fulwell. Get off at the ‘St Mary’s University’ stop, which is just outside of St Mary’s main reception. You can also take the 33 from Richmond, although the bus stop is a 5 minute walk from Richmond station on Sheen Road.

From Twickenham or Teddington

The 33 heading towards Fulwell stops on Richmond Road and York Street in Twickenham. The 33 heading towards Hammersmith stops on Stanley Road and Broad Street (Teddington High Street) in Teddington.
