A Level Revision UK understands that your privacy is important to you when using our website and our services.  We respect and value the privacy of everyone who visits our website www.a-levelrevision.uk (“Our Site”), our tutors, students and their parents and our suppliers,  We only collect and use personal data in ways that are described in this Privacy Policy and in a manner that is consistent with our obligations and your rights under the law.

Our website and business operations are controlled by A Level Revision UK (Registered number 09170378).  Our registered address is Unit 15, Brickfield Industrial Estate Brickfield Lane, Chandler's Ford, Eastleigh, England, SO53 4DR.  Email: info@a-levelrevision.uk.

A-level Revision UK is a “data controller”. We are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information about you. Where we act as a data controller, we are required under data protection legislation to notify anyone who provides personal data to us, either directly or through a third party, of the information contained in this Privacy Policy.

What information does A Level Revision UK collect?

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared.  It applies to students and their parents, our tutors and our suppliers. or when registering as a tutor.  

Personal data is information which can identify an individual such as name, address, telephone number.

Students and their Parents

We collect the following information about students and their parents, when you visit or book a course through our website www.a-levelrevision.uk or booking portal:

  • Your name and contact information, including email address and telephone number

  • Information about how you use our website, IT, communication and other systems.  Including Google analytics.

  • Information from accounts you link to us, eg Facebook

  • Information to enable us to check and verify your identity, e.g your date of birth

  • Location data, if you choose to give this to us

  • Video pictures of  your participation in online lessons.

  • Your billing information, transaction and payment card information

  • Your contact history, purchase history and saved items

  • Your personal interests and attainment e.g. Subject/exam board preference and current grades

  • Your responses to surveys, competitions and promotions

Tutors

We collect the following information about tutors who register with us.

  • Your name and contact information, including email address and telephone number and if applicable company details.

  • Information to enable us to check and verify your identity, e.g your date of birth

  • Information from accounts you link to us, eg Facebook

  • Information to enable us to undertake DBS checks on you

  • Your gender information, if you choose to give this to us

  • Information about how you use our website, IT, communication and other systems. Including Google analytics.

  • Location data, if you choose to give this to us

  • Video pictures of your participation in online lessons

  • Your invoicing information, transaction and bank information

  • Your personal interests and qualifications

  • Your responses to surveys, competitions and promotions

Suppliers

We collect the following information about our suppliers:

  • Your name and contact information, including email address and telephone number and if applicable company details.

  • Location data, if you choose to give this to us

  • Your billing information, transaction and payment card information

  • Our purchase history with your company

  • Information from accounts you link to us, eg Facebook

  • Information about how you use our website, IT, communication and other systems.  Including Google analytics.

  • Your responses to surveys, competitions and promotions

The Lawful Basis on which we collect your personal information

  • Parents and Students.  We collect your personal information in order to provide services to you and we collect it because it is necessary for a contract we have with you. If you do not provide personal information we ask for, it may delay or prevent us from providing the correct tuition or revision services for your needs. 

  • Tutors. We collect your personal information because it is necessary for a contract we have with you. If you do not provide personal information we ask for, it may delay or prevent us from engaging you as a tutor or paying for your services.

  • Students and Tutors.  With the move to online lessons we collect video of on line tuition in order to comply with our revised safeguarding policy.  The lawful basis for this our Legal Obligation to safeguard both parties.  The videos are not stored on tutors own computers.

  • Suppliers.  We collect your personal information in order to order goods and services from you and to pay for these.  It is necessary for a contract we have with you.

  • Marketing Communications.  We rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your personal data only when sending direct marketing communications to you via email. You have the right to withdraw consent to marketing at any time by contacting us.  This is clearly annotated in our data capture forms.

How we use your data:

We will only use your data in a lawful way and ensure any data is kept securely and only use for the purpose for which it was gathered.

Students and their Parents

When booking courses with us we will use your personal data to:

  • Effectively carry out the service you have booked e.g. personalizing and tailoring your revision/tuition experience, replying to e-mails, informing you of any changes etc.

  • If we need to comply with a legal obligation e.g. comply with law enforcement authorities. 

  • To answer an enquiry regarding a course or what the company can offer.

  • Informing you of relevant courses of interest based upon a previous enquiry/participation on a course.  You have the right to opt out of any marketing correspondence at any time.

Tutors

We will use your personal data to:

  • Effectively allocate you to specific students, tailoring your tuition experience, replying to e-mails, informing you of any changes etc.

  • If we need to comply with a legal obligation.  For example as a staff member you are required to disclose any criminal convictions you may have as part of your consultancy contract.

  • To pay you for your services.

Suppliers

We will mainly use your personal data to:

  • Order goods and services from you.

  • Pay for goods and services.

How long do we keep your data?

If you have made a payment to us or received a payment from us we are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed.

Details relating to students and their tuition will be deleted or anonymised after they cease to be our student. 

Any information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us for 6 years or until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

Sharing your data.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice, except as described below. The term “outside parties” does not include website hosting partners, online facilitators such as zoom or other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to abide by our data protection policies.

We share your Personal Information with third parties only relevant to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Eventbrite, PayPal and Stripe as payment services.  These organizations may collect data on our behalf to ensure that you receive the correct revision package required.

Student data such as name, subject/exam board studied, current grade, target grade, areas of difficulty is shared with our tutors.  This is to ensure the tutor can provide the correct level of service to you.

Details about our tutors is shared with tutees and parents such as your level of qualification and your DBS status.

We may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations or to otherwise protect our rights.

Storing your personal data

In operating our business via the A Level Revision UK website, your data is processed by our staff in the UK.  We do not have our own IT servers, but have appropriate agreements in place with our website host Squarespace who are based in the United States, to ensure that no third party shall have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. 

Storage of payment details

We do not store credit card details, nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.  All bookings are taken through Eventbrite, PayPal, Stripe or BACS payment.

Use of our Website

We respect and value the privacy of everyone who visits our website www.a-levelrevision.uk and will only collect and use personal data in ways that are described here, and in a manner that is consistent with our obligations and your rights under the law.

These functional and required cookies are always used, which allow Squarespace, our hosting platform, to securely serve our website to you.
